A Balinese Keris, with 19th century blade.
The Keris with a hand forged ‘13 Luk’ waved Wilah (blade), consists of Pamor steel forged in different layers of iron (pattern type: ‘Aiq Neglek’). Dapur in ‘Sangkelat’ (= Elephant trunk shape). Gilded Mendak (cuff) of ‘Wewer’ type with glass cabochons, between hilt and blade. Gilded Ukiran (Keris hilt) in old Balinese Gerantiman style. Warangka (sheath) of ‘Batun Poh’ type (‘kidney’ shaped) made from Pelet Wayang wood, Gandar (body) made from Pelet Beras Wutah wood, patiently carved by hand.
