A Javanese Keris Solo, with 19th century blade.

Asal (origin): Surakarta

The Keris with a straight hand forged Wilah (blade), consists of Pamor steel forged in different layers of iron (pattern type: ‘Beras Wutah Wengkon’). Dapur in ‘Kebo Lajer’ shape. Old copper Mendak (cuff) of ‘Bejen Yogyakarta’ type, between hilt and blade. Ukiran (Keris hilt) in ‘Deder Banaran’ shape, and carved from Tayuman wood. Warangka (sheath) of ‘Gayaman Kagok Bancihan’ type (‘kidney’ shaped) and made from Pelet Nyamel wood patiently carved by hand. Gandar (body) (body) with brass Pendok (cover), the brass Desa Bunton Polos with Tombak and decorated with engravings.

Length of the blade, including ‘Pesi’ (tang of the blade): 36 cm. (1x)
