A Javanese Keris Solo, with 19th century blade.
Asal (origin): Surakarta (Patrem).
The Keris with a hand forged ‘11 Luk’ waved Wilah (blade), consists of Pamor steel forged in different layers of iron (pattern type: ‘Kulit Semangka’ and ‘Ganja’). Dapur in ‘Sempana’ (= Elephant trunk shape). The tip with gold accents and the ‘Panji Pilis’ in gold. Small copper Mendak (cuff) with ‘Untu Walang’ (=grasshopper teeth) between the blade and the hilt. Ukiran (Keris hilt) in ‘Jejeran Yudo Winatan’ shape, and carved from Tayuman wood. Warangka (sheath) of ‘Ladrang Ksatriyan’ type (‘boat’ shaped) and also made from Cemara Gunung wood patiently carved by hand. Gandar (body) (body) with smooth brass Pendok (cover), Bunton in Tombak and decorated with ‘Lung Kanthet’ pattern.
