A Javanese Keris Solo, with late 19th century blade.

Asal (origin): Yogyakarta, HB 7 Kraton

The Keris with a straight hand forged Wilah (blade), consists of Pamor steel forged in different layers of iron (with fine pattern type: ‘Tambal Wengkon’). Dapur in fine ‘Tilam Upih’ shape. Very rare 18th century ‘Kartasura’ Mendak (cuff) between hilt and blade. Ukiran (Keris hilt) in ‘Deder Banaran’ shape and carved from Tayuman wood. Warangka (sheath) of ‘Ladrang Ksatriyan Iras’ type (‘boat’ shaped) and made from Cemara Gunung wood patiently carved by hand. Gandar (body) (body) with brass Pendok (cover), the smooth Blewah Polos with Tombak.

Length of the blade, including ‘Pesi’ (tang of the blade): 40.4 cm. (1x)
