Materials/Media: Original lithographic poster, linen backed
Provenance: The Boskovštejn Bike Museum, Czech Republic.
Note: This poster underwent several printings and slightly varying textual and design elements since it was produced by Lefèvre and printed by Chaix in 1891. The basic design remains the same and the message is clear: bicycles could be a big help to the men serving at The Front. In the background, we see conventional cavalry and infantry; our rider could get out ahead of them both. The design, unsigned in this version, is dominated by the blue and red of uniforms.
