Note: The poster shows some of the famous Dahomean Amazon warriors, an all-female military unit from the Kingdom of Dahomey (current Benin) on a bicycle. These female warriors resisted the French Colonial Army in their war against the last king Béhanzin of Dahomey. The Kingdom of Dahomey was an important regional power that had an organized domestic economy built on conquest and slave labor.
