Notes 1: Raoul Vion was a French illustrator, caricaturist, and poster designer who exhibited in Paris’s Salon des humoristes (which showcased illustrators and caricaturists) in 1930, 1931, and 1933.
Notes 2: La Française Diamant was a French company that made bicycles, mopeds, and motorcycles. Established in 1912, they sponsored the cycling team “La Française” that participated in numerous Tours de France before the First World War. In the 1920s, their offices and stores were on Descombes street in Paris and their factories were at Pantin. The brand was purchased by Alcyon in 1923.
