Artist information:

Thomas Heesakkers was born on September 12th 1946, in the area of the Dutch town Eindhoven, where he still lives and works. Immediately after World War II, life in the Netherlands was difficult, but Thomas Heesakkers was determined to be an artist and persevered until he was accepted by the Dutch Youth Academy to study painting. He spent four years there and developed into a fine painter of still-lifes. Thomas Heesakkers paints in oil and prefers larger scale paintings. As well as his still-lifes, he occasionally paints landscapes in a romantic style. His work follows closely the traditional Dutch school of 17th century painting and has great depth and intensity and a richness of colour. Thomas Heesakkers paintings are in great demand and in collections in many parts of the world. He has exhibited in Holland, Germany and England.
